Solicitor - Construction Law
After graduating and completing the LLB in 2008 and LPC in 2009 at De Montfort University, I commenced my training contract with Dentons LLP where I completed seats in real estate, construction, corporate and dispute resolution. I qualified as a contentious and non-contentious construction solicitor with Browne Jacobson LLP in 2011. I have recently joined Nabarro LLP in London where I specialise in non-contentious infrastructure, construction and energy projects.
The non-contentious work includes drafting, negotiating, reviewing and advising on construction documents on a wide range of development projects for a variety of clients in the public and private sectors. The contentious work includes advising clients and drafting relevant documents for litigation, adjudication and mediation.
During my time as a student, I participated in a range of the Law School's extra-curricular activities. I really enjoyed mooting and recall reaching the Quarter-Finals of the 2007 Weekly Law Reports Mooting Competition. In addition, I was the President of the Street Law committee and received a Special Achievement Award in recognition for my pro bono work. I was also a member of the Student Law Society committee. These activities enabled me to develop my legal skills and gain legal experience at an early stage. If you are serious about a career in the legal profession, it is important to participate in such activities to polish your skills, stand out, and work in a field that you enjoy.
